Domestic Short Hair / Tabby (short coat) Cat

Big Guy the Cat needs a home

Sometimes it's love at first sight. That was certainly the case for Big Guy and Little Girl, who acted like long lost lovers from the moment they first saw each other, and have been inseparable ever since. They first laid eyes on each other when Little Girl arrived at the Big Guy’s foster home for assessment after being rescued from a colony. Little Girl was in a recovery cage and Big Guy came in the room to investigate. As soon as they saw each other he came right up to her cage and she pressed her face into his. Her foster mom let Little Girl out of her recovery cage, and she ran to Big Guy for a head-butt, and never looked back. Today they do absolutely everything together - even walking side by side and leaning against each other when they walk to another room looking for their foster parents or their next meal.

This adorable twosome isn't just affectionate with each other - they love their foster parents too. With time, Little Girl loves being pet and sitting on your lap, and has an unrivaled 'elevator butt'! Big Guy adores being brushed and can spend hours purring and circling your legs and flopping against your feet for attention. Neither are big fans of being picked up and held, but they make up for it with the incredible amount of attention they will give you 'at ground level'. Since they both spent at least a few years fending for themselves on the streets, they are jumpy around new people, loud noises, and sudden unexpected movements, so they should go to a fairly quiet home without children. But once you've won their hearts (which is pretty easy with food and treats!), this cuddly duo will never leave you alone.

They are both in great health, but Big Guy is FIV positive - a legacy of spending almost his entire life living on the streets. He adores indoor life, with its constant supply of attention, food, and toys, but endearingly still hasn't figured out how to drink out of a water bowl, after so many years of having to dip his paw into puddles to get water! Both Little Girl and Big Guy love other cats – especially the Guy, who is built like a tank, but has the heart of a teddy bear and the mew of a kitten. Little Girl and Big Guy are a heart-warming and wonderful pair of cats, and watching them together is guaranteed to bring a smile on even the darkest day. Don't believe us?
